Responsibilities include History & Physical Examinations, admitting/discharging patients, in-patient medical management & daily rounds, ordering and deciphering laboratory & radiographic studies, suturing, establishing central venous access, assisting in the OR and post operative care.

 

1996-1997   Medic/Immunization Technician, Maine Air National Guard, Bangor, ME

Coordinated emergency response, transport and vehicle maintenance.  Administered vaccinations, maintained shot records, and instructed military personnel on the importance of immunizations.

 

1994-1996   Primary Care/Emergency Room Medic, USAF, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho

                Performed a broad spectrum of tasks including emergency response, triage, suturing, IV access, casing,

EKG’s, pulmonary function testing, and initial HX & PE’s.  Additional duties included assisting providers in an array of procedures:  minor surgeries, vasectomies, excisional biopsies, stress tests, sigmoidoscopies, etc.  Performed duties of an Emergency Department Shift Leader in a War Preparedness Exercise during a 3 month deployment to Cairo, Egypt.

Assisted in the delivery room and in the OR for c-sections, established IV access, assigned APGAR scores, provided neonatal care, and monitored vital signs.
